Everyone knows time is money. That’s why we installed Avid’s Liquid Chrome
non-linear system in our edit suite. Liquid chrome is a comprehensive video
editing and compositing solution that speeds the post-production process so
producers can concentrate on creativity. It combines the professional quality of
Liquid editing software with the guaranteed, real-time performance of the world
renowned TARGA 3000 and K2 hardware. This combination allows the fastest
real-time performance of layering and effects than any other system currently
available.
Avid Liquid Chrome features the highest quality MPEG-2 4:2:2, uncompressed
and DV25 codecs, a dedicated broadcast quality 10-bit 3D DVE and 2D DVE, a
real-time DaVinci quality color corrector, a full broadcast quality character
generator, four real-time video streams, and unlimited layering. Liquid chrome’s
exceptional processing renders complex effects in the background while you
work when and if needed. The real-time linear TimeWarp facilitates high-quality
slow-motion effects. Our Liquid Chrome is configured with serial digital in and
out to DVCam or component in and out to Betacam SP, full Windows XP
Professional support, real time import of virtually any media format, and direct
digital out to any media format. In combination with the Chrome System, we
offer 36 hours of broadcast quality video storage on a Rorke Data Ultra SCSI
drive array.
Best of all, Liquid Chrome will author, encode and burn DVDs without exporting
media to a second system. Avid Liquid Chrome allows the creation of wizard-
based DVDs, VCDs, and SVCDs with motion menus, motion buttons, and
automatic links directly from the time line.
